I think people are taking this Tinted Windows band a little too seriously. Or myabe it's just me....but I'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be a satire band. I mean, they've got Taylor Hanson with James Iha (Smashing Pumpkins), an Adam dude from Fountains of Wayne (who apparently wrote a song for the movie Music & Lyrics), and Bun E. from Cheap Trick. Plus the video on their website www.tintedwindowsmusic.com has a clip from a "show" called Rock After Dark...which doesn't really exist as far as I know. rofl, I'm leaving out a lot of details but I feel like the only one who thinks that this band is total satire and not trying to be a serious band.
It's kind of like Bobbi-Ann...which I will probably detail about later on when the time is more appropriate.

Progress!
Today was actually a productive day! Thanks goes out to Isaac Hanson for not really being active on Hanson.net today. Though maybe I should've kept my mouth shut about Johnny Depp on there...well, more than usual anyway. It's like a lot of people are just now noticing the JDepp thing that I've been flaunting around for a really long time. rofl!!! But I'm having a major 21 Jump Street withdrawal right now. *sigh* Maybe tomorrow...
Lets see, I removed the pocket from a shirt for my dad...after I found my favorite seam ripper. Lastnight I discovered that it was missing, which made me extremely sad because my other seam rippers aren't as "smooth" when it comes to destroying thread.
I also finished a couple of brooches...which makes me really happy that they are done. I'm not sure when I'm going to launch my new Etsy store but hopefully it'll be soon. My biggest issue about listing things is that I fail at writing up descriptions. I think sometimes I go overboard with wanting to make every little detail and the wording as perfect as possible and it drives me completely bonkers. I should probably relax and not worry so much.

One of those days...
I had to get up about 5 hours earlier than I would wake up on a "normal" day, ugh. My dad had a doctor's appointment (about darn time too!)...it was the follow-up on how he's doing since he had surgery at the beginning of December. Sounds like most everything checked out to be normal. So that's good. And last week my mom her doctor's appointment too. She's still "cancer-free." Thank goodness!
Though I feel super icky, like I'm going to pass out. I don't know what or why it is, my body just cannot not handle getting up before a certain time. I've been like that for as long as I can recall. I have to be really careful with what I eat...or don't eat. Even if I can find something that my stomach doesn't reject I still feel awful for the rest of the day. I hate it.
I took my dad thrifting this afternoon. He's wanting to revive an old idea that we've been toying with in the past so hopefully it'll work out...
Anywho, I bought this awesome pink sweater (with little pink "pearls," oh yeah!) with the sole intention to frog it. My mom's a little sad because it's such a "cute" sweater but it's so dated. I've been wanting to make a shawl (but didn't have the kind of yarn I wanted for it) so this sweater will be perfect! *thumbs up*

Amish Friendship Bread Pt. 2
Oookay, sorry for the one week delay. Chaos broke out this week in the online world and irl, heh... I'll spare the details. :/
So it figures that the day after I made the last post the recipe disappears. I can't find the paper that it was printed on. So I tracked it down online.
And here we go!
First you "baby" the starter that is residing in the gallon size baggie (see previous post) beginning with Day 1 (the day you make starter is considered Day 1).
Day 1: Squeeze bag several times
Day 2: Squeeze bag several times
Day 3: Squeeze bag several times
Day 4: Squeeze bag several times
Day 5: Squeeze bag several times
Day 6: Add 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar, and 1 cup milk to bag. Squeeze bag until everything is mixed together.
Day 7: Squeeze bag several times
Day 8: Squeeze bag several times
Day 9: Squeeze bag several times
Day 10: Add 1 1/2 cup flour, 1 1/2 cup sugar, 1 1/2 cup milk to starter. Mix together. Remove 1 cup of batter and add to a seperate gallon Ziplock bag. Do this two more times (removing a total of 3 cups, you'll now have 3 bags of starter). Give to friends along with the recipe or keep for yourself (you can freeze the bags). Proceed to making the bread.
*Use of all purpose flour is recommended.
**Do not use metal mixing bowls or utensils! Metal pans are ok to bake in.
***Remove any excess air from starter throughout the 10 day period.
Making the bread!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup Canola oil
3 eggs
2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup applesauce
1 large box (5.1 oz) of instant vanilla pudding
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons cinnamon
(optional: raisins, nuts)
Mix ingredients in a non-metallic bowl with starter using non-metallic utensils. Pour batter into 2 greased bread pans. Bake at 350 (mine was originally 325) degrees for 1 hour.
Optional: Prior to baking, sprinkle a mixture of 2 ts. sugar and 1 ts. cinnamon over the top of the batter.
My personal notes:
Day 6 was our "oops" day. My mother had squeezed the bag that day but nothing was ever added. So due to the misunderstanding, I went about and pretended like the real Day 6 was Day 5 again. The next day became the new Day 6 and I went on following the instructions from there.
Day 10 I only added 1/3 cup of sugar, 1/3 cup flour, and 1/3 cup of milk to avoid having any extra batter than what was actually needed for the two loaves.
Instead of using 3/4 cup of Canola oil, I used 1/2 cup. I read where some people had substituted applesauce (all or parts) for the oil, so I added an additional 1/4 cup of applesauce. This might have been a bad idea because even after re-cooking, my loaves were extremely moist and mushy.
I mixed all of my wet ingredients together and then added the dry ingredients. Not sure if that makes any difference.
As stated before, my instructions said to bake at 325 for 1 hour. That's what I did. Didn't completely bake. Looked online and found all the other recipes stated 350. Put the loaves back in at 350 and baked for 25 minutes. Turned off the oven and left the loaves in while the oven cooled down. And again, the loaves were still pretty moist and mushy.
I was also told that this stuff acts like a laxative. Er, I guess this stuff affects people in different ways because that has not been the case for me, haha.
I believe that is all for now. Have fun and enjoy!

Amish Friendship Bread Pt.1
A co-worker of my mother gave her a baggie of starter for the infamous Amish Friendship Bread (the gift that keeps giving or as some like to call it, the chain letter of cooking! mwh hahaha). For those who may not know anything about it, the starter is the beginning batter for this bread and it takes about a week, or more depending on the recipe, to get it ready to be mixed with all of the ingredients for the bread (it goes through its own fermenting process during the "week span" instead of using a store bought yeast).

Along the way (actually Day 3 of the instructions) it somehow became my project without me having any knowledge of my new responsibilty. Well since I didn't know that it was up to me to really master this thing, I ended up missing the first day that I was supposed to "feed" this thing (you have to feed the starter a mixture of the same ingredients it's made of on certain days). So I found out that it was ok and fed it on the next day and pretended like the previous day never existed in Starter World.
After some complications with getting all the ingredients together and finding a proper container to mix the stuff in, I finally reached the baking point! Earlier today I wore out my arm trying to mix everything together but I accomplished it!
The bad thing is that after baking the bread and letting it cool, I found out that the bread (with the exception of the top) was still...kind of raw-ish. It wasn't liquidy like its batter state (this bread was from batter instead of dough) but it did have an incredibly moist and mushy texture like it hadn't been completely baked. I looked online and found out that most of the same recipes required baking at 350 degrees (mine had stated 325) for 1 hour. So I reheated the oven to 350 and put the loaves back in for about 25 minutes and then left them in the oven until it cooled off. I tried some of the bread again and it still has the same consistency as before. :/ I'm guessing that it has too much apple sauce in it (and I'll go into more detail about that whenever I post the recipe).

I'll try to make another post (Part 2!) tomorrow that includes the recipe with more details of what I did along the way, since I do not have the recipe with me at the moment.
Though I do know the exact recipe for the starter that my batch came from so I'll go ahead and post it now (because it's so easy!).

(Warning: Those who do not enjoy the fine art of squeezing things may want to bribe someone into doing this for them, otherwise those lovely folks may be out of luck...and will not be able to continue the massive never-ending AFB chain!)
Pour ingredients into a gallon sized Zip-Lock bag, squeezing most of the air out, and seal. Squeeze the bag to mix the ingredients until well blended. Open the bag to squeeze out any excess air (and then make sure it's sealed again, heh). This will count as Day 1 of the process.

Gimme some Cadillac lovin'!
I came across this video of a '95 Cadillac Deville (what I drive) and it makes me very happy in many ways.
I already made other comments on the actual YouTube page but I will add something else on here. When I was driving a '93 Saturn SC (one of the tiniest cars ever, and I'm not one to feel claustrophobic but the SC sure changed that!), I got about 33 mpg on the interstate. Though I had a lot of problems with the wind and passing cars throwing the Saturn around and massive sliding in the rain (even with "good" tires). And in my nice, big, comfy, lush, warm (or cool in the summer), pretty, and awesome Cadillac I get about 24-29 mpg on the interstate depending on how fast I'm going (I noticed that I easily average 29 if I can maintain about 80 mph...while everyone else is zooming past me breaking the speed limit more-so than myself *ahem*). Though I should shut-up about small cars because I've always been a Cadillac girl (and even a '91 Buick LeSabre...an evil car...was too small and light-weight for my comfort). Ok, point being that Cadillacs (when functioning PROPERLY) are not....wait, let's make that NOT gas guzzlers.

Gone With The Wind...And The Bizarre
The night before yesterday and yesterday we had some pretty vicious winds. Today it was kind of fun and surprising walking around the yard to see what the wind blew around. I found one of my little plastic green houses, that had been m.i.a. for some time now, in a strange area on our property (which it had not been anywhere near that spot previously).
I took Miss Sassy for a walk while I was searching for some other stuff that had been blown away by the winds. Well actually before going for the walk/search I decided to grab my camera because I thought "O hai, maybe I'll find something freaky worth capturing." I don't know, I guess I was secretly hoping to catch a leprechaun...
Anywho, I decided to take some pictures of Miss Sassy because well, people take pictures of Paris Hilton so why not? (I know, lame attempt at some sort of joke). After I uploaded them to my computer I noticed something kind of...not right, but it did make me literally lol. This picture below...let me assure you that Sassy has FOUR (4) legs in real life.

To verify that it wasn't just me going crazy I had my parents check out the pic as well. All I see in the leg department is her right front leg, left front leg, and here left hind leg. ...it looks like she doesn't have a right hind leg. And with the angle/direction of her right front leg, she's looking kind of tipsy. I don't know what's up with it but this is totes one of the weirdest pictures I've ever captured!

Adios Damaged Hair!
I just hacked off 10+ inches of my hair. My hair is short to me now (it was almost to my derriere) but I suppose most people still consider it to be long (about mid-back length). At least now I'll have an easier time brushing it. I'm just curious as to how fast it'll appear to grow this time. Back in late November I chopped off 3-4 inches and by the beginning of January it was actually longer than it had been before late November.

Tra-la-la
Gossip Girl is love.
Two days ago my dad brought home this helium balloon, from who knows where (...I highly doubt that one of the horses at the farm gave it to him to give me), and within the past two days it has decreased to half its original size. I fear that two days from now it will no longer be with us. Poor thing also gained a lot of weight and just lays around all day. :(

I've been addicted to the Etsy forums during the past couple of days. A lot of the sellers advice and stories on how they accomplish sales is inspiring. I think I'm going to start listing things again using the advice I've come across. I'm really in the mood for creating more ACEOs.

Sugar Cookies!
I wish I could find a decent, basic sugar cookie recipe. I'd prefer that it didn't include shortening, baking powder, or cream of tarter. Also, I'd like for it to not require 50% of the ingrediants to be butter (I'd prefer not to have a heart attack after eating one cookie, k-thnx!). Anywho, I want to make M&M sugar cookies like they used to sell at the mall. They were big, chewy, and had 3 M&Ms spaced out toformed a triagle pattern. Oh gah, I need one of those bad boys right now!

Oh what a night!
First off: I've sunk to new lows and signed up for Twitter (because I need more attention, so gimme it!).
*Puts on "Pimp" hat*
http://twitter.com/CaptainSparkle
Second: The Grammys just keep getting worse and worse each year. I miss the way it used to be...back when it still had a little bit of dignity.
Third: Domestic Disturbia '09!!! I'll been glancing at this unraveling case throughout the day on ONTD. I figured the "unidentified female" was Rihanna. I don't really care for either of them...but how dare you Chris Brown!?!! Ugh, and stop breaking ONTD!!!

Gaga
I want to be like Lady Gaga. That girl is fierce to the ninth power.
That said, I'm ready to rock the synthesizer keyboardy-goodness sound with my old '89 keyboard from Radio Shack. True fact.

Chicken Noodle Soup Craving
Lastnight I was craving chicken noodle soup. I wish I had a can of it. I wonder how it would taste if I sprinkled tumeric in it. I guess I shall put it to the (taste) test the next time I have a can of mmm mmm mmm chicken noodle soup!
